Reporting to the Director of Interactive Services & EDM, under minimal direction the successful candidate will provide LAMP solutions for varied clients with a day-to-day emphasis on web content management using the Drupal framework. The developer will work in collaboration with associate and senior developers and design specialists to perform bug fixing and minor feature enhancements for sites built in Hypercontent. The incumbent will also collaborate with other team members in the migration of Hypercontent sites into Drupal, help support XSLT front-ends for the Google Search appliances and assist in maintenance and enhancement of the Sundial University Calendar system. Also, partner with team members in developing new sites built in Drupal.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for providing solutions by analyzing and gathering requirements, solution design and development, solution documentation, demos, quality assurance, user training, and support.
  • Performs technical and functional analysis, implement complex and/or multiple software applications for medium-sized projects and/or assist with same for large, complex projects supporting varied web-based business initiatives. This work will be done independently and in collaboration with colleagues depending on project scope.
  • Engages with clients on all phases of a client's project.
  • Collaborates with colleagues to recommend changes to existing solution designs to fulfill technical requirements.
  • The developer will code Drupal templates and modules using PHP, CSS, Javascript and SQL and perform MySQL database and Unix administration.
  • Contributes to and assists in development test plans and provides technical support in all phases of testing and QA leading to implementation.
  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation and assists in troubleshooting technical issues. The successful candidate will work with both technical and non-technical colleagues and clients.
Minimum Qualifications for Grade

  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum 4+ years related experience.
Additional Position-Specific Minimum Qualifications
Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant

  • High-level proficiency in PHP, CSS and Javascript.
  • At least two years' experience building web applications with a PHP - based CMS.
  • Proficiency in web-related *nix administration.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Drupal
  • Proficiency in rapid UI development using Jquery or similar Javascript library.
  • Keen understanding of web standards, usability and accessibility.
  • Experience as technical lead on a team.
? Rails experience is a plus.
? XSLT experience is a plus.
