Working under general direction, this position is responsible for performing audits and/or assessments of activities which support the safe, efficient and effective operation of the Susquehanna Steam Electric Station (SSES). This position will work as part of a team or independently. May perform duties as an individual contributor, a team member or a team leader with substantial latitude for independent initiative. This job is a senior-skill level without formal supervisory responsibility. In this position, the incumbent may provide guidance and direction to other PPL Susquehanna, LLC employees to support production of high quality, timely and cost-effective solutions to performance problems.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform the functions of the following: Internal auditor, Lead Internal auditor, Vendor auditor, Lead Vendor auditor or Internal assessor
  • Performs the function of a team leader or team member on assigned audits and assessments.
  • As a team leader, plans audits/assessments, objectives and approach; coordinates and monitors team member activities; ensures problems are identified and resolved; distributes work; provides presentations to management and develops the audit/assessment report.
  • Schedules work of self or team to meet completion dates and commitments.
  • Provides assistance and consultation concerning effective and efficient practices and the adequacy of internal processes to customers.
  • Recommends changes in procedures, processes or plant design.
  • Duties may include trouble shooting of process problems or other special studies as appropriate.

    Candidates must meet the basic qualifications to receive consideration.

    Basic Qualifications

  • Incumbent is required to have a bachelor degree in engineering or technically related field, Or Five years related experience, with a two year degree in engineering or technically related field, Or Seven years of directly related experience in nuclear operations, maintenance, engineering or vendor/procurement , or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Possess and maintain a valid drivers license; willingness to travel to perform audits - if required.
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written); knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and databases; effective interpersonal skills.

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous oversight experience in auditing, assessment or NSAG/ISEG, etc. Proficient with SSES specific software such as NIMS, PICSY and eSOMS
  • Professional Engineering license. BWR SRO license or certificate.
