Duties And Responsibilities & Minimum Requirements:

This position will provide direct support to the Director of Athletics, assisting the athletics department in creating the best possible experience for the University’s student-athletes. Manages the student-athlete welfare division, including student development and community outreach programs. Serves as liaison to University Registrar’s Office, Undergraduate Admissions Office, and University Student Affairs Division, and other departments that have direct involvement with student-athletes. Works with the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and provides individual support to student-athletes. The Senior Associate Athletic Director has direct oversight of Compliance, Student-Athlete Leadership and Development, Sports Medicine, Sports Performance, academic enhancement initiatives, and Human Resources for the Department. The position assists the Director of Athletics with the daily operations of the department. Provides administrative oversight of certain varsity sports as assigned by the Athletics Director. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting the head coach with budget construction and adherence, and working with the head coach to create and manage an environment conducive to both academic and competitive success. The Senior Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations serves of the senior staff for the Department of Athletics and in that capacity, serves as a representative on issues relating to student-athlete academic performance, life and welfare, as assigned by the Director of Athletics. Requirements: •Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred. •5-10 years of experience in collegiate athletics administration, with relevant supervisory/managerial experience. •Minimum of 5 years experience required in NCAA Division I Compliance. •Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments. •Strong organizational skills. •Strong interpersonal skills that demonstrate an ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. •Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. •Proficient in NCAA Compliance applications and relevant Microsoft applications. •Available weekends and evenings. •Background check completed as a condition of employment with Georgetown University.
