Responsibilities for this role:
  • Responsible for management of moderately complex audits
  • Implements audit procedures in accordance with risk assessment and engagement team discussion
  • Develops and supports risk assessment, materiality judgments and appropriate assurance procedures to address specific identified risks
  • Identifies misstatements and their implications
  • Performs test of application system controls
  • Drafts and organizes management letters into substantially final documents, incorporating any relevant managment letter comments
  • Ensures that all audit program steps have been completed: verifies that financial statements and footnotes agree with working trial balances, cross-references are mathematically accurate, and additoinal information and amounts are supported by the workpapers
  • Ensures that all significant matters on the audit have been identified, addressed and resolved: verifies that senior management and principal review notes have been adequately cleared as a part of the engagement wrap up process
  • Completes end of audit documentation requirements; ensures that electronic filers are locked down or backed up and retained in accordance with firm policy and monitors report production process
  • Preplans engagements relative to the size of the audit to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
  • Directs work of assigned associates
  • Conducts organized planning meetings before beginning field work
  • Plans and organizes client assignments
  • Directs and monitors the work of associates
  • Reviews the work performed by others for completeness and accuracy in accordance with audit plan
  • Maintains knowledge of client policies, procedures and business conditions
  • Understands and can explain clients' accounting policies and has knowledge of financial information systems
  • Knows the clients' significan business risks
  • Is aware of external factors affecting the clients' business and industry
  • Understands scope of assurance services to be provided to clients
  • Supports client relationships and general marketing initiatives
  • Develops rapport with client staff and management
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of clients' accounting systems
  • Identifies opportunities for, and coordinates download of, data schedules from client systems for use during the engagement
  • Ensures other staff and client managers are aware of any issues at the client of which the associate may become aware

Requirements
  • Possesses a Bachelors Degree with a major in accounting or a related field
  • Has completed the requirements for the CPA certification
  • Able to use Microsoft Word and Exel sufficiently
  • Proactively seeks out development opportunities, focusin on self-identified strengths and weaknesses
