The Business Analyst Sr. is primarily responsible for critical operational activities within Membership Operations. They are the departmental contact for enterprise testing initiatives, to include software and network upgrades, conversions, and other efforts. Additionally, they are responsible for managing support tickets entered by the department, to include ticket initiation, prioritization, reconciliation, reporting, and resolution. Further, the Business Analyst Sr. is the departmental subject matter expert for electronic enrollment processing, to include file and on-line enrollment methods. In this capacity, the Business Analyst Sr. provides program management for electronic enrollment file processing during Open Enrollment, to include testing, validating, interpreting, and communicating results. The Business Analyst Sr. is responsible for supporting procedure review and re-engineering, troubleshooting, data quality initiatives, report development, data analysis and staff training. They support the solution identification and implementation process for departmental and corporate projects and initiatives. They are responsible for maintaining an expertise in enabling technology, systems, applications and processes supporting department and corporate business imperatives.. They may serve as liaison between Independent Health and external vendors or clients providing consultative subject matter expertise in support of operational objectives. Overtime may be required on weekends and holidays.
Four (4) year degree from an accredited institution; demonstrated expertise aligning systems and process operations may be considered in lieu of degree.
Five (5) years experience in dedicated operational or technical role. Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality work products in all project lifecycle phases. Experience with Agile methodology preferred but not required.
Three (3) years of project management type experience with creditable successful project completions. Health care industry background or benefits administration experience preferred but not required.
Proven ability to manage operational imperatives, achieve specific operational goals, and to prioritize and manage risk in an environment of diverse and shifting priorities.
Ability to understand and articulate complex systems, process and/or concepts with the demonstrated ability to influence outcomes.
Proven ability to understand data structures, perform extensive data analysis, apply data management best practices, and synthesize test results into cohesive deliverables.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others at all levels of an organization, internally and externally including professionally participating in external audits, client meetings and contract negotiations.
Direct experience with electronic file processing highly preferred. Ability to understand Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) principles, file transfer protocols, and file structures.
