As a part of HR's Business Intelligence Team, this position will be using data to inform business and product decisions across the company. Using your technical skills and business acumen, you’ll build tools to automate reporting and dashboard updates so clients can see quickly and accurately how projects are performing. This role be involved from project inception to report design through to data delivery, ensuring that your reports are delivering high-quality and relevant data so that our business can grow intelligently.

We are looking for a Sr Business Intelligence Analyst, based in Minneapolis, MN. This position will work with high performing teams across Cargill to develop workforce insights that drive business performance. It will provide strategic, analytical and technical support in all business intelligence activities for Cargill’s growing HR Partnership for our businesses. This person will use their business acumen and technical knowledge to develop and deliver Business Intelligence solutions for internal customers and will work with the business to understand their changing requirements. This role will help leaders in HR and our businesses become more capable to translate workforce insights into business value. In addition, this role will work with related product and engineering teams to provide strategic and tactical input to the development and maintenance of Cargill’s Business Intelligence infrastructure, including the Data Warehouse and reporting applications, as well as the development of new prototype solutions.

Principal Accountabilities


40% - Provide direct support and consultation to help clients translate business needs into insights through use of measures, reports, and advanced analytics. Work closely with the Human Resources.

30% - Define business requirements and developing appropriate business analysis and reporting applications for Cargill’s Global Human Resource Function. Develop reporting / tools using SAP applications that provide a platform for decision making on a variety of business issues. Function on their talent management and workforce planning strategies. Work with operations management to understand their information needs and ensure the solutions we develop and deliver are an excellent fit to their evolving needs.

20% - Work closely with the Performance and Analytics team to help integrate industrial grade applications and tools. Contribute to the tactical and strategic development of Cargill’s Global BI Infrastructure including the Data Warehouse and reporting applications.

10% - Invest at least 4 hours per week in personal professional development through a combination of sponsored personal projects and research.


Bachelor’s Degree

6+ years Human Resources or Business experience

Distinctive research, problem solving and analytical skills, combined with strong business acumen

Strong written and verbal communications skills.

Strong database development and query knowledge

Genuine excitement for analyzing large and complex data sets and converting them into the information which drives business decisions.

4+ years of analytical work experience in high volume environments, such as consulting, marketing, and financial services

Experience with front end reporting tools such as SAP BI, Tableau, QlikView, Microstrategy, Business Objects, Cognos, Oracle BI, and other industrial reporting and analysis platforms as strong plus.

Should consistently deliver quality outputs in a high paced and dynamic environment with an ability to work to tight deadlines.
