This position resides within the Information Technology group, which is responsible for supporting Gas business applications. The scope of this position requires strong technical skills, the ability to work independently and in teams, and communicate effectively across business units.
The responsibilities for this position are as follows:
System Administrator for Gas Scheduling Systems (GasOps./AIF/PIP)
Provide support to other system applications in support of the gas business.
Provide technical knowledge and application expertise to the user community.
Clearly document user requirements and assess project time lines.
Proactively monitor gas applications, take lead in troubleshooting, and develop solutions.
Design, develop, test, and implement updates or solutions to gas applications.
Continual evaluation, development, and implementation of system and process improvements to optimize gas applications and strengthen controls and analytical capabilities.
Organize, build, and maintain reports for end users.
Maintain database standards/guidelines documentation.
Ensure Compliance with established IT control policies.
Responsible for ad hoc reports and projects, as required
Ensure coverage is provided to the business hours during the trading business and settlement business times of 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This is balanced between the team to ensure the coverage.
Provide backup support to ETRM Systems(Aligne-ZaiNet, ZE, CXL Hedge Accounting, CXL Credit Risk, Aligne-Back Office, EOD Reporting, Aligne-Analytics)
Participate in the End of Day Reporting support.
Adapt to new processes and new systems with business changes.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 5 years experience in energy trading applications
Knowledge of natural gas trading and operations
Experience using VBA, SQL,VB.NET, XML, XSLT
Experience with Oracle BI reporting tool
Strong knowledge of IT concepts, practices, controls, and procedures.
Proficiency using windows and the complete MS Office Suite (Versions 2003 and 2007).
Effective written and verbal communication skills with technical and business personnel.
Capacity to manage multiple tasks, solve complex problems and work under pressure.
The ability to work across functions and within teams.
Flexibility to work outside of business hours (7:00 AM to 5:00 PM M-F) for support, projects and upgrades
Flexibility to travel to other Iberdrola Renewables’ offices (Calgary, Salt Lake City, Portland)
Prior experience with Sungard products are preferred, but not required
