The agency's Finance and Administration Department is currently seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst to join our IT team. Apply your business knowledge, communication, and facilitation skills to elicit business requirements. The Senior Business Analyst will consult with internal and external customers on how to best support them through the effective use of technology. You will evaluate the impact, return, and costs presented by work process improvement opportunities. You will also participate in business planning, needs analysis, and business risk assessment; duties will also include being responsible for deploying, maintaining, troubleshooting, sizing, and managing a variety of business applications, interfaces, and software development efforts. Your key to success will include your analytic and problem solving skills and your excellent verbal and written communication skills. You will shine with your ability to engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.

Working under the direction of the Manager, Software Systems Development, the Senior Business Systems Analyst will lead project management, deployment, and administration of activities associated with bus and rail transportation systems, which include (but are not limited to): fare collection systems, inventory management systems, and scheduling systems. Responsibilities extend beyond development and deployment of theses systems to include integration of these systems with a number of other critical components that support transit-oriented and administrative solutions (e.g., content management, decision support, collaboration tools, and third party joint solutions).

Qualified candidates should have sufficient education, training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. Development of the required knowledge and abilities is typically obtained through, but not limited to: a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or Engineering, plus significant years of relevant and recent increasing levels of experience working with information systems, or a combination of education, technical certifications, and experience demonstrating the ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. Must have a clear understanding and vision of how best to deploy information to an end user community. Must have experience with any combination of the following technologies: Web application development, Oracle and/or SQL server-based systems, and SaaS (Software as a Service). Must be able to prioritize work and communicate proactively with users, respond to emergencies calmly and rationally, and maintain a pleasant and positive manner while working with staff at all levels. Must have strong project management and problem-solving skills. Must understand all phases of software development and application integration. Must have an excellent presence with senior management. Must be hands-on with a solution-focused orientation. Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary.
