Title: Senior Buyer

Department: Material Management

Description: Acquisition of Printed Circuit Board Assemblies and related components.

Reports to: Purchasing Manager

Location: Windsor CT

Term: Full Time Position

Compensation: To $65,0000 base compensation per year.

Principal duties:
Materials acquisition of components required in the manufacture of printed circuit boards as directed by the Purchasing Manager. Performs negotiations with vendors to receive the best price/quality/delivery possible. Utilizes computer to manage material requirements. Interfaces with vendorsÂ’ Inventory personnel and material Manger on material requirements. Reports to Purchasing Manger.

Required Skills/Knowledge: At least 2 years of buying experience preferrably in an electronics field. Candidates who possess any prior experience with Printed Circuit Boards and Printed Circuit Board Assemblies and related components will receive preference.

Tasks:
Reviews orders and material requisitions.
Reviews Vendor Performance to requirements.
Interfaces internally and externally to resolve issues.
Interfaces with Purchasing Manager on resolution of Material issues.
Utilizes computer for entry of Purchase Orders.
Stays abreast of market place changes as they occur and publishes possible impact.
Participates in company or special training classes with emphasis on employee improvement.
Reviews Discrepant material log for timely resolution of issues.

Education: Minimum of a 2 year Technical Degree. (Can be substituted with over 5 yearsÂ’ experience)

Technical: Well versed in marketplace.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Working knowledge of component types and values.
Good negotiating skills.
Polite and articulate phone demur.
Good computer skills. (Proficient in Excel)

Human Relations: Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Must be able to develop a good rapport with vendors and suppliers.
Good telephone skills.

Problem Solving: Requires the use of good judgment at all times.
Requires the ability to gather and analyze information.
Requires the use of cause and effect problem analysis.
Requires resolve to follow through until a satisfactory resolution has been made.

Magnitude: Errors are to be kept to a minimum, as the inaccuracies may cause delays and or possibility that incorrect material may be used. 100% Quality is our goal, and Quality is the derivative of Price/Usability/Delivery, requirements. Think of your Operations as critical.
