Bachelor’s degree in Business/Finance or Accounting is required. A degree or certificate in nursing or in an ancillary therapeutic or diagnostic patient care field may be substituted.
Experience with PC’s, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, and database software applications is required.
Previous patient care experience preferred.

The Manager, Charge Services / Senior Chargemaster Analyst manages the hospital’s departmental chargemasters and charging practices to ensure compliance and maximum revenue capture. This position also ensures that the coding of new and existing charge codes are within applicable coding guidelines; communicates with all clinical, coding, and billing departments the annual coding changes and drives both chargemaster and EMR changes necessary to meet these requirements; provides reimbursement analysis; assists with billing and claims issue resolution; provides coverage guidelines for billable services to prevent future claim denials; ensures the appropriate bundling or unbundling of charges so that all charges which are submitted result in maximum reimbursement while following applicable billing, coding and reimbursement regulations; reviews Medicare intermediary and other third party payor bulletins to keep current on billing requirements; assumes the lead role for the Charge Services EMR solution in all phases of implementation, enhancement, maintenance, and troubleshooting; communicates relevant information to all applicable departments through daily interaction and monthly status meetings; prepares executive level reports as requested; prepares and presents annual (or semi-annual) price increase proposals to CEO, CFO, and other executive team members, and coordinates and assists in execution of all approved changes; manages chargemaster database reports to ensure accuracy of chargemaster, responds to charge auditor and departmental requests for research, represents Charge Services and / or Revenue Management on various organizational teams, participates in strategic initiatives as requested by executive level management, supports RAC team and responds to RAC audit requests as necessary, and provides other support as needed.
