Senior Civil Engineer – Kansas City

Serves on a Full Time basis, as an Engineer, Senior (Civil Engineer) supporting the T4 Program through the Central Region based out of Kansas City, KS. 75% travel may be required throughout the Central Region.
The ideal candidate will have a 4-year degree in Civil Engineering or a related field and 8-10 years of professional experience. A EIT or Professional Engineer registration is preferred.
Develops and/or supervises the creation of engineering designs and supervises the monitoring of construction and/or installation. This may include establishing the work scope, preparing the budget and schedule, planning the work, providing technical direction, and reporting the work status.
In-office design reviews, on-site technical assistance, plan and organize material orders for on-site installation technicians, provide project monitoring of construction contractors to assure adherence to design documents and contract documents, and assist Regional Program Manager with documentation controls, reports, deliverables, and analysis of project costs.
Assists Construction Manager and Engineers in application of principles, methods, and techniques of construction/civil engineering technology.
Candidate will be involved in the plan preparation, acceptance testing, and evaluation of field conditions, design changes, progress evaluations and reports .
Creates generic building specifications and conducts appropriate civil engineering tests and studies associated with the transition, integration, and implementation of NAS modernization projects.
Candidate will attend and participate in "on site" meetings throughout the project and participate in briefings for employees during various phases of the project.
Candidate will be able to create proposals, present proposals to the client, work designers and CAD operators to create system designs, creating technical specifications, reviewing multi-discipline design packages, completing procurement requisitions for required materials and services, using an internet based Project Management System to update, report and archive projects documentation and executing projects with subcontractors.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a 4-year degree in Civil Engineering (or related Engineering Degree) plus and a minimum of 8-10 years of related work experience. In addition, an EIT or Professional Engineer registration is preferred.
75% travel throughout the Central Region is required.
Moderate overtime may be required.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint is required. Proficiency in Access is preferred.
Must be able to meet customer security requirements (moderate to high risk). A background check by federal authorities will be performed.
