Farm Family is looking for a Senior Claim Representative in our NJ territory to join our team!

Position Description – Under the direction of Claim Management, the person in this position provides prompt efficient and courteous claim handling within the state of New Jersey. This position involves extensive driving and travel. Primary responsibilities include:

Conduct telephone and/or field investigations necessary to determine coverage, liability, and/or damages consistent with Company and department standards. Inspect and appraise first party property damage, both personal and commercial lines of business. Communicate and maintain professional relationships with insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, vendors and management regarding the ongoing status of claims handled. Draft written correspondence for insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, vendors and management regarding various aspects of claim status. Recognize, investigate, and handle as necessary recoveries from subrogation, salvage, liens, loss transfers, or other related claim areas. Conclude claims, in compliance with all the rules and regulations of the locale in which the claim is being adjusted, either within the assigned authority or, for cases above the authority, within the authority given by Management. Attend depositions, hearings, or trials as needed. Establish and maintain proper reserves. Review notices of loss to determine proper coverage.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred Possession of a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record is required. At least three (3) years experience in claims handling or related experience required. Knowledge of the Xactimate appraisal system a plus Experience handling Public Adjusters in NJ area AIC or CPCU designation (or commitment to obtain an AIC or CPCU designation) required. Possession and maintenance of necessary licenses to adjust claims in the states/territories serviced. Possession of a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record is required. Willingness and ability to work a varied schedule, including nights and weekends. Ability to lift 30 lbs and carry files up to 15lbs. Ability to work independently with excellent organizational skills and initiative.
