Job Summary: Provide various client and financial services to National Accounts, resolve client inquiries and exceed customer expectations. Develops and maintains proficiency in the following core skill areas: financial accounting and projections, billing and banking reconciliation, financial reporting/analysis, project management, problem resolution, implementation and customer service.

Functional Responsibilities: Overall accountability for the support of multiple complex National Accounts clients: Responsible for the development and completion of the most complex customer financial reports, including identifying reporting needs, data and trend analysis and effectively communicates results to meet client needs. Prepares year-end financial accounting and 5500 reporting for clients. Validates monthly revenue projections and responsible for data integrity. Responsible for monitoring the key financial parameters of internal management reporting and capable of proactively identifying discrepancies, trends, and results that would impact Customer Unit financial objectives. Reviews other Financial Team members’ financial accounting or revenue projections as needed and may conduct internal first review of financial reporting. Accountable for the completion of monthly bank reconciliation reports and monitors client activity. Responsible for client billing, reconciliation, and partnering with internal and external contacts to ensure billing is entered accurately and timely. Respond to very difficult client requests, lead highly complex cross functional projects, provide alternative solutions and plan designs, act as liaison between client and MetLife. Coordinate client meetings, acts as project leader for implementations. Serves as a team leader, key resource and subject matter expert to Customer Unit and National Accounts and Financial team leader. Creative problem solver for highly complex issues. Participates in client account audits and actively engages in strategic planning process demonstrating recognition of opportunities for solutions and new products and services. Develops and enhances strong, long-term client relationships, instilling client trust and loyalty with MetLife. Responsible for reviewing and documenting current financial processes, providing information for internal audits as needed. Provides support to RFP process and Implementation of new clients, as well as the addition of new products to existing clients. Understands legal agreements and facilitates their execution to ensure compliance, provides ongoing contract maintenance and spd review. Performs highly complex case implementation including contract review, structure, and interface setup issue resolution. Prepares historical information for the renewal and underwriting and actively contributes to client strategy discussions. Fully aware of and understands MetLife’s and competitors’ products and industry trends, legal developments impacting business. Independently leads cross-functional project teams designed to support key National Accounts initiatives or to enhance operational effectiveness including performance guarantee management. Calculates dividends, provides pricing & financial review for RFP and renewals, creates P&I report and provides strategic account planning. Resolves administrative issues, performs CDF and ILINK Input and maintenance, coordinates and participates in benefit fairs. Coordinates customer forms, creates Admin manuals. Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None. May guide the activities of lower-level staff members.

Typical Experience: Typically has a BS/BA degree and 7-10 years of experience. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong project management skills and ability to work autonomously or with others to effectively handle multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines appropriately and remain flexible. Advanced accounting/math problem solving skills, including attention to detail, analytical thinking and decisiveness. Ability to work autonomously; effectively handle multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines appropriately and remain flexible. Ability to balance client expectations with MetLife capabilities. General understanding of U.S. economy and employee benefits industry. Proficient in Microsoft Office software. Advanced knowledge of MetLife’s group products, services and systems and ability to strategically analyze the interaction of these products, services and systems.
