Job Summary:
Works closely with the interdisciplinary Health Care Team to provide nutrition services/care that are integrated and compatible with the patient''s medical program goals and objectives. Nutritional care includes identification of patients at risk for malnutrition, identification of nutrient deficiencies, nutrition assessment, medical nutrition therapy, nutrition education, development of nutrition care plan and interventions, and communication with the Physician and other Health Care Members concerning implementation of medical nutrition therapy and the plan of care. Assesses and evaluates nutritional needs per Standards of Care and Scope of Practice for the Registered Dietitian. Evaluates plan for effectiveness and patient response. Mentors and teaches students, dietitians, and health care team members in specialty nutrition area. Participates in Quality Improvement program and the process.

Knowledge & Skills Required:
Ability to read, write, speak, comprehend and follow oral and written directions in English
Advanced nutrition knowledge and practice level (human physiology, biochemistry, metabolism, and pharmacology as it relates to clinical nutrition status)
Knowledge of nutritional screening, assessment, diet planning/modification, needs of specific age groups of the patient population and medical nutrition therapy

Education & Experience Required:
Bachelor''s degree from an accredited college or university in Foods and Nutrition or related field
Completion of approved coordinated undergraduate program, dietetic internship or AP-4 program
Master's degree in Nutrition/Dietetics from an accredited college/university or holds and maintains an advanced national nutrition specialty certification; certifications include the credential CNSD-certified nutrition support dietitian, CDE-certified diabetes educator, CSP-certified specialist in pediatric nutrition, CSR-certified specialist in renal nutrition, CSO-certified specialist in oncology nutrition, or CSG-certified specialist in gerontological nutrition

Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration Required:
Licensed Dietitian or eligible for licensure with the State of Florida. If not licensed, must obtain license within 6 months of hire
Must maintain licensure for the State of Florida, registration with the Commission of Dietetics
Registration and advanced certification in nutrition as applicable.

Physical Demands for Essential Functions of the Job:
Bends, squats and may lift, carry, push, or pull up to 30 pounds for up to 20% of work time when performing office procedures
Stands, sits or walks when performing all duties
