We are currently seeking a Senior Compensation Manager

Job Summary:
The Compensation Manager will report to the Senior Director of Global HR Operations. The primary function will be managing DDN’s compensation programs including the job classification, salary, bonus, equity, recognition, and other programs. The Compensation Manager will lead the planning, communication, and administration support for DDN to make compensation decisions. Position located in Sunnyvale, CA, but offers some flexibility to be REMOTE during some hours of the week.

Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:
  • Plans and directs the establishment and ongoing administration of DDN compensation programs and processes to support Human Resources goals.
  • Manage annual and ad hoc salary, bonus, and equity review cycles and provide context for timely compensation decisions during the hiring process.
  • Establishes and communicates job classification and related eligibility policies for participation at designated levels within compensation programs.
  • Oversee effective communication and implementation of compensation decision support policies and processes.
  • Assist with designing and managing elements of compensation, including cash and equity programs.
  • Conducting research, analyzing data and preparing recommendations requiring a broad understanding of compensation methods and practices.
  • Developing cost models and estimates for all proposals and review cycles.
  • Works closely with Finance to support planning and budgeting for cost impacts.
  • Designing compensation metrics and reports to provide insight and analysis on trends to support more informed HR/business decisions.
  • Ensures compliance with pertinent regulations with regards to compensation.
  • Keeps apprised of local compensation laws and regulations and potential impacts on plan design or administration.
  • Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines and procedures, recommending plan revision as well as new plans which are cost effective and improve alignment of compensation with DDN strategy.
Qualifications for this role are:
  • Have 3 to 5 years or more of experience as a compensation analyst in a dynamic organization.
  • Extensive knowledge of compensation principles, best practices, trends, market practices, and regulatory issues in a global environment.
  • Ability to articulate labor markets, competitive positioning, and compensation principles in support of management decision processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting efficient processes for maintaining job structures, cash compensation, equity programs, and recognition practices.
  • Experience with global compensation program design and global approaches to program administration.
  • Expert analytical and problem solving skills with strong analytical ability to apply good compensation design within MS Excel models and processes.
  • Excellent presentation skills with experience developing and delivering communication programs throughout the organization.
  • Organizational and project management experience with global programs in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to provide timely estimates of financial impacts of compensation and equity programs and to understand financial metrics used in variable pay programs.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required, MBA preferred.
