Able to quickly understand proposed new initiatives, has the insight to ask probing questions that clarify the claim and corporate business need and to drive to solutions; can quickly assess impact and determine next steps

•Collaborate with business data stewards to monitor, investigate, correct and prevent data quality issues in accordance with a data quality plan.
•Triage and research data quality issues found by application users, software developers and testers
•Analyze, query and map data to identify current data quality issues like accuracy (correctness), timeliness and reliability by searching for data quality issues
•Design, create, implement, document, test and administer data correction on current data quality issues
•Design, create, implement , document and administer data monitoring jobs which monitor, measure and report on data quality issues, and notify the teams as necessary when issues are found
•Identify root causes of data quality issues, develop recommendations for addressing them and present recommendations to the team
•Profile data to validate assumptions made during Requirements definition about data conforming to certain business rules
•Profile data before integration to define baseline data quality standards
•Review Cognos reports to ensure accuracy and completeness of the data represented in the report
•Help develop the data validation rules to interpret and parse existing data sources and detect and report exceptions.
•Build metrics for weekly and monthly audit reporting
•Understand source system changes that could impact data feeds to the claim data warehouse

Recommended Qualifications
•Bachelor's Degree (required) or Master's Degree (preferred) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
•6+ years of data quality analyst, data analyst or systems analyst
•Proven experience in serving as an expert in data analysis and understanding data models and relationships
•Proven data warehouse experience
•Detailed knowledge of the following
-DB2 relational database concepts and structures
-Oracle relational database concepts and structures
-Microsoft SQL Server relational database concepts and structures
-Use of SQL tools such as TOAD, WinSQL, etc
-Strong understanding of SQL commands and procedures
•Strong understanding of IT environments, technologies in relation to business needs
•Proven practical experience with analysis and/or support to Claims business processes
•Proven practical experience in guiding and supporting corporate standards and compliance
•Experience in initiating, conducting and facilitating discussions with multiple stakeholders, and ability to translate the results and issues at hand to the business and to the IT teams
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Strong interpersonal / relationship management skills
