The VA Department of Alcoholic and Beverage Control's Information Technology Services Division is growing and is seeking highly motivated experienced professionals. Our Agency is seeking a Senior Database Administrator that will be an integral part of the Data Services Team.

The Team's Strategic goals are to focus on delivering data services to upcoming ecommerce, business intelligence applications as well 30+ complex systems related to Finance, Human Resources, Procurements, Property Management and Taxation, Wholesale /Retail, Enforcement, Data Warehouse and Data Stores.

Responsibilities...Your role will serve to the entire agency. Your expectations will be to Install, configure and upgrade Oracle server software and related products. Take care of the Database design and implementation. Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures. Perform database tuning and performance monitoring. Perform application tuning and performance monitoring. Perform general technical trouble shooting and give consultation to development teams. Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges). Setup and maintain documentation and standards. Plan growth and changes (capacity planning). Evaluate Oracle features and Oracle related products.

Minimum Qualifications
Good understanding of the Oracle database, related utilities and tools. Oracle production and application DBA Experience, OCP certification. Working knowledge of UNIX-HP-UX, Linux. Experience with Oracle 11gR2 RAC Database Administration in HP_UX or Linux environment. Experience with RMAN backup and recovery, database cloning, flashback technology. Experience using ASM and Data Guard. A good knowledge of the physical database design. Ability to perform both Oracle and operating system performance tuning and monitoring. Knowledge of ALL Oracle backup and recovery scenarios. A good knowledge of Oracle security management. A good knowledge Oracle data integrity. Sound knowledge of the implemented application systems.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications OEM Grid Control experience a plus, Familiarity with Agile Development Methodology, Familiarity with OWB
