Position Title: Senior Database Administrator (Falls Church, VA)

Position Summary: The Senior DBA has the responsibility of maintaining, monitoring and managing the existing SQL Server operational infrastructure. This responsibility includes, but is not limited to, identifying, researching, and resolving technical problems, maintaining documentation on respective database systems, design and implantation of Database Management System (DBMS) and respective databases, database backup and recovery, and performance tuning.
Provide highly technical expertise in recommending, developing, and maintaining business application solutions.
Advise project teams on the design of complex databases.
Perform detailed comparisons of various database systems.
Provide expertise in data storage systems.
Perform administration tasks (installing, maintaining, monitoring, recovering, rebuilding, upgrading, patching and performance tuning).
Implement software solutions for performance enhancement, operator interface, and increased user capability.
Perform complex analysis and design of client databases.
Ensure proper configuration of the database for performance and provide guidance on optimization.
Develop logic and physical designs.
Develop and maintain the data dictionary, and enforces standard for database use and security.
Provide technical expertise and guidance in the logical and physical database design, development, transition, operation, and maintenance of database management systems.
Evaluate the data processing techniques, database management, and management information system concepts and applications as they relate to customer information needs and goals.
Define all required database administration policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
Create and maintain documentation of database systems, operational procedures, topology, and hardware / software inventory.
Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve system and user problems.
7+ years of experience in database administration
3+ years of experience administering in a multi-server Oracle environment
Experience in supporting Oracle 11g environment
In depth knowledge and understanding of views, triggers, stored procedures, and query optimization
Experience in building and administering highly available Oracle database solutions in using replication, mirroring, and clustering
Experience with Real Application Clusters (RAC) and Data Guard
Practical knowledge of PLSQL programming language
Oracle DBA Certification preferred
Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
US Citizenship required
