Position Summary
Coordinates activities of the Default Prevention program by performing the following duties:

Primary/Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for providing counseling, information, and assistance to students in accordance with federal requirements and the schools default prevention program.

Inform borrowers of their rights and responsibilities under the FFEL and Direct Loan Programs.

Assist borrowers with options to lower or postpone student loan payments based on the borrower’s individual need.

Conduct exit interviews for students who graduate or withdraw.

Assist with financial literacy class prior to student’s completion of program.

Coordinate post-graduation/withdraw activities to promote default prevention services.

Manage letters and phone calls to borrowers in all stages of delinquency.

Key Success Factors

Education: Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six month to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Measureable outcomes expected:

Annual Official Cohort Default Rate below 25% under the New Rule (3 year review).
