The Jones Group, Inc. has a great opportunity for a Senior Designer for Nine West Handbags. The position is responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and developing handbags and small leather goods. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Execute design packages with translation of all details in order for the factory to execute correct samples (i.e. hardware, stitching, linings, etc)
Travel to factories as needed to finalize the execution of samples making all corrections.
Finalize product with the production and sourcing team to insure timely and consistent quality.
Set up showrooms prior to market.
Work with the Creative Director to initiate concepts each season that are fashion driven for the target customer.
Partner with the sales team to insure business objectives are reflected in the product design.
Merchandise the line with the Creative Director to insure the assortment is balanced in terms of shape, material, and price point.
Daily communication with overseas offices for all development and execution details.

College degree in fashion or accessory design.
6 years experience in handbag design in a retail or wholesale setting.
Familiarity with the development process as it relates to working with overseas factories and vendors.
Possess a strong fashion sense, and the ability to interpret trends.
Be able to effectively manage time and multi-task, pay strong attention to detail, and work within a team environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
