Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Senior Desktop Analyst/Architect for a right to hire position in Farmington, Ct. This person will help manage the global desktop environment, including desktop operating system and related application packaging and delivery, including the Citrix Farms and SCCM. This person will also provide high quality 3rd line technical support to all staff and 3rd parties, ensuring all service desk calls and emails are dealt with effectively and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
Main responsibility will be supporting a Global Citrix infrastructure deploying servers, maintaining apps and infrastructure, working with vendors to resolving issues

Deploying applications to the global desktop environment, maintaining standards and improving where possible. This environment includes Citrix as well as physical desktops/laptops.

Deployment of security patches to test environments then to production (Citrix and Desktops), and following up after the deployment to ensure success rates are high, fixing any problems where they arise

Provide support to IT projects, making sure any changes to the Desktop Environment are made in a measure and controlled manner

To provide high quality third line technical support to all staff and third parties. Desktop environment management remains primary responsibility but must also be prepared to help out with day-to-day Service Desk issues where unable to be fixed by second line teams

To answer and log/update IT Service Desk requests, ensuring timely and effective response to user requests

To escalate any issue to ensure all responses are timely

To work with the management team in improving systems and user relations.

To follow-up issues with users to ensure that problems are resolved and customer service is improved

Education and Qualifications:
MCSE 2003 or higher

Degree-level education preferred

ITIL foundation advantageous

Skills and Abilities

Experience in the efficient and automated deployment of applications to Citrix essential

Experience with Windows Installer Technology and ability to package software using Install Shield or equivalent is advantageous

Scripting knowledge using CMD \ Powershell or VB script is advantageous

Substantial proven experience installing and supporting Microsoft Windows based devices and network-based PC applications

Ability to work in pressurized, deadline bound, changing environment

Excellent technical and non-technical communication skills, both written and oral.

Server support for individual server software installations

User Administration - user moves, adds and changes, as well as user and group rights administration

Proven ability to write clear documentation and articles for end-user and technical-user use.

Must have the ability and desire to work in an upbeat dynamic team and in a collaborative environment. Must be a good team worker

Methodical approach/Logical problem solver

Work with vendors technical support organizations to coordinate troubleshooting process for all related video conferencing troubles in a timely manner.

Experience in the efficient and automated deployment of desktop operating systems advantageous and applications to geographically disbursed sites advantageous

Knowledge and Experience

7+ years support experience

Appsense or Citrix profiling experience essential (must be in latest versions and to senior level)

Citrix administration and infrastructure support advanced skills required in latest versions (XenApp and XenDesktop 6.5) and proven in most recent roles. Must have been involved in designing and building a global Citrix farm and supporting it

Knowledge of RES and Citrix PVS

Proven experience with EdgeSite

Experience with Printing methods on Citrix

Experience with Citrix Branch Repeaters

Terminal Server Remote Application mode architecture and admin skills

Experience with Msoft App-V

Advanced skills in configuration and maintenance of Netscalers

Experience in best practice with regards to managing SCCM environments

WMI scripting skills advantageous

Solid understanding of Microsoft desktop technologies

Experience advantageous in application packaging methodology and packaging tools e.g. InstallShield Admin Studio, Wise Package Studio

Good understanding of network fundamentals, including File Optimizers

Experience in providing high-level technical support both operationally and to end users

Experience with dealing with customers (both business and IT) at a senior level

Experience supporting and integrating computers in a heterogeneous environment.

Experience with Client

Advanced AD administration experience AD best practice, group policy provision and maintenance
