A founding member of Boys & Girls Club of America, Madison Square Boys & Girls Club annually serves over 5,000 youth at four clubhouses and three school sites in the Bronx and Brooklyn. We provide after-school and summer program that address the needs of the "whole child," empowering at-risk youth to see past their own circumstances and find the tools necessary to pursue the vast opportunities that lie ahead.
The Madison Square Boys & Girls Club is currently seeking a Senior Development Associate to raise funds to support the work and mission of Madison raising awareness of Madison’s work, goals, and financial needs. Join a fast-paced and growing development team which is the initial quiet phase of a capital campaign. This position’s essential charge is to provide support to the capital campaign, internally and through campaign leadership committees, and to continue to develop and build Madison’s individual donor efforts.
Manages all ongoing Individual Giving activity in support of annual fundraising and the capital campaign
Supports the management of all Individual Giving, coordinating very closely with the capital campaign
Helps to conceptualize and organize all cultivation events in support of campaign efforts and toward building a dynamic individual giving program
Helps prepare research and strategies prior to meetings and events and coordinates follow-up with Board and senior staff on meetings, cultivation and special events.
Coordinates stewardship of all individual donors and prospects, through events, meetings and visits.
Coordinates annual appeals
Coordinates communications about individual giving.
Develops and manages a portfolio of 150-200 prospects capable of making gifts of at least $5,000. Emphasis will be on securing a significant number of new gifts and gift upgrades through a strategic and aggressive approach to personal cultivation and solicitation.
Together with the Director of Individual Giving and Special Events, develop multi-channel communications and other strategies for Madison’s mid-level donors ($500-4,999), achieving aggressive targets for an increase in number of donors, annual gift upgrades, and overall donor engagement and developing the program as an effective pipeline to the major gifts program

Raiser’s Edge database experience
Demonstrated ability to help identify and cultivate gifts, from individuals.
Demonstrated ability to maintain relationships with significant donors on behalf of an institution, and an understanding of the record keeping and stewardship systems that support a successful donor relations program (particularly Raiser’s Edge).
Must be committed to philosophy and mission of Madison by becoming fully conversant with Madison’s programs and funding opportunities.
Must be a highly organized, detail oriented self-starter who is able to handle multiple projects simultaneously, often under time constraints;
Flexibility and experience in building a solid donor program.
Donor research skills including familiarity and/or experience with LexisNexis and Foundation Center’s Foundation Directory Online are a plus.
A proven professional who promotes teamwork, creativity and open communication.
Demonstrable experience in working with teams with the ability to harness team creativity and translate into effective fundraising.
Strong communications skills with the ability to express ideas clearly both in written and oral communications.
Ability and willingness to participate in events outside the workday schedule.
