The Senior Director, Marketing Solutions has responsibility in three main areas: the monetization of Fandango across digital platforms, the development and execution of Fandango’s sales go-to-market strategy, and both external and internal messaging in the form of sales materials and awareness efforts. The Senior Director plays a central role creating alignment between the sales team and the site teams (content, marketing/promotions, and product) as well as creating Fandango opportunities for the larger NBCUniversal portfolio — but as with any sales marketing position, the overriding imperative is to support revenue generation.

MONETIZATION
  • Client-Specific RFPs & Brainstorms: partner with sales to formulate marketable sales strategies that are customized to fit specific client objectives; includes the “big idea” brainstorming and liaising with the “central” marketing teams to create compelling cross-property sales programs (reactive sales support)
  • Category- and Product-Based Packages: support endemic movie advertisers with new opportunities while also creating non-endemic category strategies that position Fandango’s attractive audiences to new groups of advertisers; create compelling packages for Fandango product innovations and other new opportunities (proactive sales support)

    STRATEGY
  • Go-to-Market: partner with the VP Marketing Solutions and sales leadership to constantly refine Fandango’s (1) endemic, (2) non-endemic and (3) portfolio
    go-to-market strategy and advertiser-facing positioning
  • Packaging: create, socialize and execute packaging strategies that effectively maximize our ability to monetize Fandango on web, mobile, and social platforms; create strategies for bundling Fandago offerings with standardized portfolio offerings for both Upfront and scatter timing
  • Products: collaborate in the development of new ad products (e.g. data and targeting); make recommendations/share customer feedback about site innovations that could lead to revenue

    MESSAGING
  • Sales Collateral: create complete suite of Fandango sales materials, credentials deck, case studies, one-sheeters, etc.; ensure all materials support Fandango’s “voice” and go-to-market strategies; generate new “pitch” approaches
  • Internal Communication/Facilitation: act as the central point of contact for inbound portfolio marketing requests and liaise with all appropriate NBCUniversal groups to facilitate efficient and transparent communication
  • Advertising & Sponsorships: evaluate opportunities to promote Fandango through event sponsorships, agency road shows, advertising and other channels


  • Qualifications/Requirements
    Basic Qualifications:
  • Four-year degree required, MBA preferred
  • 7-10 years of marketing-related experience within the media industry
    (media company, agency, client-side, sales organization, etc.)
  • Familiarity with standard digital analytics tools (Omniture, @Plan, comScore, Dynamic Logic, Quantcast, etc.) and ability to derive insights from the data
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel

  • Creative, solutions-oriented thinker who can operate within a matrixed environment who has a proven ability to get things done while simultaneously managing multiple projects
  • Robust understanding of advertising within the Digital eco-system; ideally with specific domain expertise with studios and the movie marketing space
  • A student of media with one eye on what’s coming “next” and how to monetize it
  • Extensive digital sales packaging experience including both the creative (“big idea”) component and the practical (go-to-market/execution) aspects
  • Solid project management, marketing and strategy experience
