The Zendesk IT team is seeking a talented and experienced IT Leader with a compelling, established record of success in high quality corporate organizations and with career experience in high technology products or sectors. You have a strong Lead to Cash background and broad development and managerial experience. You have proven and significant team building, communication, and leadership skills.
You also have a deep knowledge of subscription billing systems, experience with CRM and an understanding of ERP financial application integration. You are familiar with the main applications in our infrastructure: Marketo, Salesforce.com, and Zuora. You believe that success comes from deploying beautifully simple solutions. You will partner closely with leadership from our business organizations to turn their needs into high quality, scalable, secure systems to foster Zendesk’s dynamic growth. You will direct a team to produce great technology rollouts, improve business processes, and direct the overall program from requirements and design through to implementation and support. You will also analyze long-term requirements for corporate systems and make recommendations and proposals for implementing technology strategies.
You are an excellent business partner who works with your customers to understand what they need and find the right solutions. You are able to quickly learn new technologies, think out-of-the-box to find creative solutions, and communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences. The job requires that you be a self-starter with the ability to take ownership and multitask. You must possess excellent oral and written documentation skills.
The Senior Director, Sales and Marketing IT, is responsible for the following areas:
Major functions include the following: business engagement, applications design and development, QA, applications architecture
Develop and maintain relationships with business partner organizations to ensure understand their business requirements, develop priorities, and manage their expectations
Develop and execute against a staffing plan for IT to serve the needs of the global Sales and Marketing organizations
Deliver complex project portfolio on schedule, within budget, and meet/exceed customer expectations
Deliver applications excellence; beautifully simple, highly scalable and reliable business applications, excellent customer service, efficient and agile operations, industry leading metrics
Leverage SaaS technology to deliver leading edge applications to business and showcase to customers
15+ years of IT experience supporting Sales and Finance departments
10+ years of people manager experience
7+ years of project or program management experience
7+ years with sales and finance technology packages such as Netsuite, and Salesforce
Strong background in applications design, development, and QA technologies in a global corporation
Excellent change management skills and ability to operate effectively in fast paced environment
Experience with SaaS, PaaS, and other forms of service based computing models.
Successful career progression in complex organizations
Broad current knowledge of business technology applications, current trends in IT and experience evaluating/implementing outsources solutions and service providers.
Ability to understand future technology trends (e.g. Mobile Applications) and identify opportunities for improving business operations.
Collaborate with business partners and IT peers to define service levels
Track record of having led the implementation for an enterprise-class technology system, including staffing, budgeting, stakeholder management, and change management
Excellent understanding of Sales and Finance business processes
Excellent oral and written documentation skills
BS/BA in CS or equivalent work experience
Knowledge of deferred revenue accounting
Experience with business process re-engineering
Ability to present to senior management via whiteboard and powerpoint
Agile development and program management experience
