If you are passionate about education, want to create millions of "aha" moments and be a part of a fast growing internet business then you're in the right place. is looking for a Director of Tutor Operations who will help oversee and support the daily operations of recruiting, screening, scheduling and supporting over 2500 online tutors, and providing quality control for over a million tutoring sessions a year. Candidates must have a proven background in operational management with strong work ethic and ability to execute in a fast-paced work environment. The ideal person will be a strategic and creative thinker, who loves a challenge and brings the skills and know-how to make an instant impact.

Job Responsibilities:
Support management of the daily operations of large-scale tutoring service.
Ensure that a sufficient number of appropriate candidates are recruited to meet on boarding needs.
Work closely with the Director of Recruitment to strategize on recruitment efforts.
Evaluate existing internal management systems and lead process to increase efficiency of systems to support company growth.
Direct and monitor scheduling to ensure that company goals are achieved.
Handle day to day operations while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, policies and procedures.
Create a supportive work environment for tutors resulting in improved retention and session quality.
Assist with writing articles for monthly newsletter as needed and other ad hoc projects as requested.
Support in managing the full time staff.

Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum 10 years operations management experience, preferably in an education related industry.
Excellent planning skills, and exhibit strong organizational, attention to detail skills.
Outstanding relationship building skills and the desire to provide exceptional customer service.
Analytical, business-savvy, strategic thinker with the ability to execute and deliver against overall business objectives.
Excellent skills in managing, motivating and incentivizing a large-scale part-time and full time team.
High personal and professional integrity, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence.
Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills.
Experience with overseeing a master schedule preferred, with ability to proficiently manage multi-faceted schedule for tutors.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience writing articles for newsletter or company related resources preferred.
Expertise in one or more of the following areas preferred: recruitment, remote workforce management, operations management in education. - 13 months ago - save job - block
