Responsibilities: The Sr. Director, IS Operations and Services Management for IS Global Infrastructure is the critical operations assurance function for the infrastructure team. Although this position does not directly manage infrastructure operations, it ensures that processes, schedules, resources and costs are aligned for perfect infrastructure execution. The VP, Infrastructure Operations will be very dependent on this Sr. Director’s role in planning and performance of infrastructure operations. The Sr. Director will assist the Global Infrastructure team in establishing an overall global IT operations strategy, performance metrics and continuous improvement programs, interfacing with and fostering strong working relationships with the business, establishing and delivering service level agreements and managing the IT production environment. The IT production environment includes: computers, networks, peripherals and associated hardware and tools at all data centers and at every site – distribution centers, offices, and other facilities that are part of infrastructure operations.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Operations and Infrastructure Management or related disciplines. IT Professional Certifications related to the infrastructure operations function are valued by Ingram Micro. An MBA is highly desirable.
Experience: Ten years’ experience in IT leadership roles, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in:
Leading IT services and operations within a complex, global enterprise
ITIL and other relevant best practices applied to infrastructure
Experience and knowledge in IT architectures and operations
Knowledge of operational systems and technologies including applications, data centers, local and wide area networks, voice communications, web environments, handhelds, service desk, and desktop environments.
Planning and execution of large projects
Complex problem resolution under stress and ability to merge diverse technology agendas into a cohesive, integrated architecture by influencing key technology resources.
Strategic thinking and practical applications of strategic initiatives
Relationship management – within an enterprise globally, among executives, customers and staff; as well as externally with vendors and business partners
Cost reduction, taking advantage of increased power and performance of IT solutions at lower costs
Very effective verbal and written communications with a diverse community of customers, partners, IM associates, and outsiders
Attention to detail
Business process re-engineering or process improvement involving broad-based information systems, utilizing tools and technologies to drive and enable the business.
