HUYA is a fast growing company which has a number of current development programs that are being pursued both internally and with significant external collaborations. The position of Senior Director and Medical Program Manager reports to the Chief Medical Officer. With increasing levels of responsibility, the successful applicant will be responsible for the planning, design, and oversight of clinical programs and studies, providing drug development and medical input and clinical study expertise in collaboration with other internal and external experts for pre-clinical and clinical study execution, as well as providing medical monitoring of ongoing clinical studies, and setting and meeting study timelines and milestones in accordance with corporate goals and budgets. The position works in a cross-functional environment within HUYA and also with HUYA’s strategic external partners. He or she will contribute to, and support, corporate goals to progress the company’s portfolio of products.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for leading/assisting, along with the Chief Medical Officer, in the design of clinical development plans and overall strategy for compounds, therapeutic classes of compounds, or indications in light of developments in the area of clinical and pharmaceutical oncology and other therapeutic areas, as needed. Establish and approve scientific methods for design and implementation of applicable clinical protocols, data collection systems, and final reports. Serve as medical monitor with primary responsibility for patient safety within studies as well as for overall corporate safety surveillance. Participate in the review and interpretation of clinical data and provide oversight for, or writing of, clinical study reports. Provide medical expertise on cross-functional product development teams. Participate in identification and selection of clinical investigators. Attend key scientific meetings or conferences and keeps abreast of relevant scientific publications to maintain awareness of current developments and progress in relevant therapeutic areas and drug development methodology. Identifies and manages Key Opinion Leaders in the therapeutic area of focus, as needed. Provide protocol and therapeutic area training for internal and partner teams. Provide leadership for advisory boards and other scientific committees. Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues and senior management in assessing requirements for new product candidates. May be responsible for supervision or line management of others.
Medical Doctor (MD) degree required with a current medical license
Therapeutic specialization or experience in oncology preferred
Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, or clinical research experience for a minimum of 10 years
Fluency in written and verbal English
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Leadership skills including a collaborative and team-oriented approach
