The Senior Director is responsible for managing and growing our selected federal account while building client relationships with key decision makers. This position will lead business development, capture and service delivery for the key account and coordinate across the firm to develop a strategic account plan that drives revenue growth. This position has full P&L responsibilities. In addition, this person will be entrusted with creating and enhancing customer intimacy within the account. The successful candidate must be a collaborative, confident, decisive, and seasoned professional who can perform in a high profile position while achieving challenging goals. In addition, he/she should possess the intellect, maturity, judgment, and business acumen and presence needed to establish credibility with management, peers, and other company and outside constituencies. This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer and is located in Falls Church, Virginia.
Responsible for developing a clear and focused strategic account plan with key constituents; oversees the successful implementation of the strategic account plan.
Responsible for revenue growth by identifying, qualifying, developing, proposing, and closing new business opportunities.
Develops internal and external partnerships to identify and develop large, strategic business opportunities.
Acts as Sevatec's primary point of contact at a designated federal agency or agencies.
Develops existing and grows new trusted relationships with clients and partners at the appropriate levels to enable growth objectives.
Possesses excellent business development capabilities and be able to lead and inspire capture team to win new business. The role is highly entrepreneurial in nature, and therefore requires someone who is a motivated self-starter, an excellent communicator and coach, and confidant to others.
Responsible for building an existing $10M portfolio to $25M annually within three years.
Should possess a thorough understanding of federal procurement and IDIQ contracts, and demonstrated experience maximizing the value of a large multiple award contracts by responding to short turn-around task orders.
Participates in weekly corporate business development pipeline review to communicate the movement of opportunities through the pipeline.
Responsible for leading and authoring major sections on proposal efforts.
Creates excellent working relationships at appropriate levels with clients and company teaming
On a project basis, directs and coordinates all activities necessary to complete major projects requiring a wide variety of technical skills.
Oversees projects within portfolio to ensure highest client satisfaction, quality project delivery, healthy profitability and high team morale.
Ensures all projects within portfolio are fully referencable and our ratings are 5 out of a 5 point scale.
Works with Contracts Dept. to perform contract administration tasks and remain accountable for ensuring contractual compliance.
Demonstrates the ability to lead teams, mentor and manage staff. Coordinates with Human Resources on staffing and personnel issues.
Adherence to the highest quality and continuous process improvement initiatives per our Enterprise Quality Management System (EQMS) which includes ISO 9001:2008 and CMMI Level 3 maturity requirements and other future quality certifications.
Develops and coordinates internal relationships and resources for client solution development and business capture.
Participates in operational meetings with team leads and employees to provide updates on Account performance.
Must possess a Bachelor's Degree. A Master's Degree is preferred.
Ten or more years of business development experience in leading large-scale, highly visible, and
competitive federal business development opportunities.
Demonstrated success working with small businesses on transitioning set aside business into full and open opportunities is highly preferred.
Must establish immediate credibility by demonstrating an understanding of the federal government's business issues and the capability to address them; deep knowledge and experience with Department of State.
Has a well-established, extensive network of relationships at senior management levels at Department of State.
Demonstrates strong business generation leadership skills as evidenced by her/his ability to generate contract revenues from a federal civilian client. She/He should be able to provide examples of situations where they have initiated and led strategic initiatives to close new business for their existing employers.
Moves quickly and deliberately with a "make it happen" mindset; self-motivated to excel and is able to operate independently where necessary.
Has an entrepreneurial, flexible, and innovative mindset.
Outstanding verbal communication, presentation, writing, and organizational skills; listens actively and well.
