B.S. degree required; M.S. degree highly desired
Prior experience working for a major and a large independent highly desired
7+ years industry experience
A proven oil and gas finder
Experience in basin analysis – has performed regional stratigraphic and structural interpretations
Experience in Operational Geologist role – has identified, readied and drilled wells profitably
Has an understanding of basic reservoir engineering principals, basic drilling principles and geophysical fundamentals including seismic interpretation
Strong business acumen including prospect risk, reserves assessment, and petroleum economics
Proficient in geological mapping software
Competent to serve as a technical resource on complex geological activities
Experience in various North American basins
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong presentation skills with ability to articulate project ideas in a clear and concise manner.
Develops and nurtures professional relationships with individuals and companies active within appropriate geographic areas
