Description

The Senior Components Engineer will support the end of life (EOL) and RoHS components which includes electrical, mechanical, glass & chemical.

Responsibilities will include

·

Identify plans and execute projects that generate cost savings

·

Participate on cross-functional teams and provide input for project status and project schedule updates

·

Identify critical design factors and risks that impact customer needs and regulatory requirements

·

Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action

·

Serves as escalation point for functional buyers and commodity specialists to resolve issues with suppliers.

·

Partners with buyers and supplier quality engineers to resolve delivery and quality issues, respectively

·

Issues and follows up on supplier corrective action reports (SCARS) as needed.

·

Transfer technical documentation (drawings, specifications) into revision control system including creating and assembling

·

Document efforts via established procedures using CAD systems

·

Document Change Orders (DCOs)

·

Establish electrical engineering specifications

·

Review test plans and test specifications

·

Design verification

·

Management and coordination of EOL database components and actions

Qualifications

·

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field with at least 5 years of relevant experience With a Masters degree

preferred.

·

Knowledge with electronic design including programmable logic, analog

·

Strong familiarityof PCB design, fabrication and assembly circuit design, microcontrollers, interfaces

·

Understanding/Experience of instrumentation design including electrical and mechanical components

·

Ability to understand and read engineering drawings and specifications related to fit, form and functionally

·

Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication skills

·

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio).

·

Oracle database knowledge preferred

·

Demonstrated ability to analyze large data sets, prepare formal reports of findings and provide decision support based on data.

·

Excellent project management skills- ability to complete projects expeditiously with minimal supervision.

·

Familiarity with Procurement processes desirable

·

Lean process improvement/Danaher Business Systems knowledge preferred
