Mechanical product development engineer. Work cooperatively in a team environment to develop mechanical components for hard disk drives. Identify problems, generate alternatives and implement solutions to problems that affect yield, quality and reliability of the product. Take responsibility for entire HDA subsystems design and work with suppliers on implementing the design to high volume production. Occasionally take a leadership role in resolving cross functional issues. This position takes the engineer through the whole development process from conceptualization, to modeling and performance prediction, design & supplier interface, component qualification, and production release.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Component, assembly, and product level testing and characterization
Mechanical failure analysis, problem solving, sub-assembly and component design
Present oral and written reports and recommendations on analytical findings
Operate 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) system, Finite Element, and analytical software to perform design and drafting tasks
Utilize exposure to standard dimensioning standards for drawing creation and tolerance analyses problem
Works on a variety of difficult technical problems of moderate scope.
Works to meet schedules.
Identifies problems in defined area, generates alternatives and recommends solutions.
Results impact schedules and resource allocation. Achieve results that adhere to program schedules and that avoid added expenses and resources.

B.S. 2-6 yrs related experience, or MS 0-3 yrs. related experience
