BarkerGilmore has just been exclusively engaged by a Fortune 500 Company to identify a Senior Environmental Counsel who will be responsible for providing advice and counsel on regulatory and enforcement issues, to global upstream businesses on remediation and asset retirement (abandonment) issues, and to downstream businesses on US remediation matters for this multi-national business leader. This position will be located in Houston, TX and the employment offer can include a top shelf relocation package. Ideally, we seek a lawyer with extensive experience with a focus on asset retirement, remediation or resolution of matters related to contaminated properties, general upstream environmental issues, and EHS aspects of commercial transactions. Responsibilities may include: contract interpretation, environmental regulatory interpretations, agency or third party negotiations, enforcement matters, advice on policies and strategies, review of legislation, participation in emergency response teams, and risk management matters.
