GRB Environmental Services, Inc. (GRB) is pursuing a contract with the USDOT to provide 10 full time Environmental Consultants at the following locations:

Region 1 – Cambridge, MA (1 position)
Region 2 – New York, NY (1 position)
Region 3 – Philadelphia, PA (1 position)
Region 4 – Atlanta, GA (1 position)
Region 5 - Chicago, Il (1 position)
Region 6 – Ft. Worth, TX (1 position)
Region 8 – Lakewood, CO (1 position)
Region 9 – San Francisco, CA (1 position)
Region 10 – Seattle (2 positions)

GRB Environmental Services, Inc. is headquartered in New York City and was established in 1985. GRB has grown to a 70 full time personnel firm with 182 contract employees. The contract requires to work daily at the Regional Headquarters of the USDOT identified above and to supply professionals who are knowledgeable of Federal statutes and regulations, environmental assessment review process, NEPA and the following NEPA related laws, regulations, guidance documents, and Executive Orders:

The Clean Air Act
The National Historical Preservation Act
The Clean Water Act
The Endangered Species Act
The Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act
49 U.S.C § 303 (Section 4f))
49 U.S.C § 5303-5305 (metropolitan and statewide transportation planning)
49 U.S.C § 5324(b) (economic, social, and environmental interests)
Other applicable federal environmental laws and guidelines

The following positions are required and associated credentials/experience:

Senior Environmental Professional/Specialist/Scientist (7 positions)

Bachelor’s degree in an environmental related field plus 7 – 10 years of progressive experience in environmental regulatory compliance, NEPA, and Environmental Assessments related to transportation industry, American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) Certification a strong plus or Master’s Degree plus 3-years of progressive experience.

Environmental Professional/Specialist/Scientist (3 positions)

Bachelor’s degree in an environmental related field plus 8 years of progressive experience in environmental regulatory compliance, NEPA, and Environmental Assessments related to transportation industry, American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) Certification a strong plus or Master’s Degree plus 7-years of progressive experience.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Contract personnel shall have specialized knowledge of the principals, practices, and methods of program or administrative work relating to environmental protection programs. This entails 1) an understanding of the philosophy underlying environmental regulations; 2) knowledge of environmental laws and regulations; 3) practical knowledge of environmental sciences and related disciplines, the effects of actions and technology on the environment, the means of preventing or reducing environmental impacts, and the relationship between environmental factors and human health and well being; and 4) practical knowledge of important historical, cultural, and natural resources (including land, vegetation, fish, wildlife, endangered species, forests) and the relationship between preservation and management of these resources and environmental protection.
