ECS – Enterprise Computing Services (ECS),
part of Global Technology Infrastructure (GTI), which is the technology infrastructure organization for the firm, delivering a wide range of products and services, and partnering with all lines of business to provide high quality service delivery, exceptional project execution and financially disciplined approaches and processes in the most cost effective manner. The objective of GTI is to balance both business alignment and the centralized delivery of core products and services across the firm. GTI is designed to address the unique infrastructure needs of specific lines of business and the demand to leverage economies of scale across the firm. ECS provides and supports the global enterprise systems that host business applications at the core of JP Morgan Chase's business proposition. Platforms include zSeries mainframes; iSeries, Tandem and OVMS Large Midrange Systems; and File Transfer Services which provide cross-platform data movement services.
File Transfer Services (FTS) provides an integrated, fast, secure, and cost-effective set of transfer options that are available to all lines of business, when there is a need to transfer data to or receive data from external customers and vendors.
We partner with lines of business to select transfer methods tailored to meet their business requirements and securely exchange data, following corporate and industry standards to minimize the risks of unauthorized access, theft, or manipulation of data.
The key role for this individual is to design data flow between distributed systems based on the operational and customer requirements. The candidate will work closely with both business contacts and clients to successfully setup critical file transmissions in a swift, but accurate manner. The candidate will be required to work in a number of different environments including Unix, Tandem, and Mainframe utilizing various managed file transfer software products. The candidate must have excellent organizational and workload management skills and must excel in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment. The position will also require accurate documentation of work performed and have the ability to follow change management procedures.
5-7+ years of Systems Engineering experience within large enterprise environments
Minimum of 2 years file transfer experience.
Experience in testing and implementing managed file transfer solutions.
Experience in Unix Skills - VI, Shell Scripting.
Knowledge and experience in any the following protocols: AS2/SSH/SSL/Connect: Direct.
Migration experience preferred
Willing to take ownership, and able to independently work toward implementation.
Able to manage complex and ever-changing workload.
Proven analysis, reporting, and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to absorb & present complex ideas quickly & accurately
Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to communicate complex issues to technical and nontechnical audiences that include peers, lines of business partners, and senior management
Strong documentation skills to be able to write design and support documentation.
Leadership abilities, ability to drive discussions and bring forward recommendations, explain complex issues to peers and senior management
Professional customer-focused attitude at all times
Understanding of and experience with change management concepts, processes, and tools
Ability to train and mentor more junior technical staff
