Position: Senior Finance Analyst, Ally Bank Risk Finance

This role works with Risk and Finance managers/peers to assess the Allowance for Loans, Leases, and Losses (ALLL) for all lines of business, including Auto Finance, Bank Mortgage, Commercial Finance and Ally Bank. Analysis of the ALLL includes current and projected loss trends, asset quality, macroeconomic factors, and other key business drivers.

Major duties and responsibilities

Ø Review the quarterly Allowance for Loan and Lease Loss (ALLL) adequacy for each line of business.

Ø Evaluate and clearly articulate the key drivers of change in the reserve level and downstream impacts to the balance sheet and income statement.

Ø Responsible for quarterly Auto/Mortgage peer analysis including IR presentation summaries of major competitors

Ø Ensure consistent reporting, analytics and accounting treatment are applied to ALLL/Provision across the various lines of business

Ø Determine whether policies and procedures and the documentation surrounding the reserves are in compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory guidance

Ø Maintain robust documentation (auditable, supportable), including results of judgmental actions (including quarterly memos with trended information and changes in direction of risk)

Ø Support the Ally Bank and Ally Financial Allowance for Credit Loss (ACL) Committee meeting with documentation, official meeting minutes and analysis – including specific portfolio drivers/detail

Ø Responsible for financial disclosures (10-Q/K) related to ALLL, Provision and Rep and Warrant (R&W)

Ø Support relationships with Internal Audit, Loan Review, SOX Compliance, External Audit and Regulators

Ø Utilize global SAP and Hyperion environment to provide common, consistent data and reporting

Experience and Skill Requirements:

Ø College degree (Finance or Accounting) preferred but not required

Ø Previous work experience in Banking or Financial Services preferred

Ø Core understanding of finance, including basic accounting preferred

Ø Self starter capable of working independently and in small group settings.

Ø Ability to communicate vertically and horizontally within an organization using clear and concise messaging

Ø Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Ø Advanced Microsoft Excel and Power point skills required

Ø Ability to organize complex data, perform independent analysis and prepare management presentations

Ø Ability to handle multiple competing priorities and work effectively in a cross-functional matrix environment

Ø Experience and comfort with direct communication to business partners
