Supervisory Position




Job Summary

At CNA, Financial Planning & Analysis is a strategic partner with our business units and staff departments and provides financial support and consultation, including annual planning, monthly/quarterly financial reporting, production reporting and analysis, and expense analysis. As a member of the P&C FP&A Consolidation team, you will be expected to provide reporting, analysis and consultation on all aspects of the business, including production trends, profitability measures, and expenses.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:

Prepares, analyzes and reviews production and profitability reports. Identifying trends in results and providing necessary analytics to support findings.

Plays an integral role in our annual plan process, developing planning reports, analyzing forecasts and trends. Coordinates aspects of financial planning process for assigned business areas.

Supports monthly/quarterly close processes through reporting, forecasting and financial analysis of financial results.

Interacts and coordinates with other departments to address business issues and meet organizational objectives.

Supports special projects and ad-hoc analyses. Independently identifies and investigates issues and determines reporting requirements, anomalies and trends related to ad-hoc projects and analyses.

May perform additional duties as assigned.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to effectively resolve moderately complex situations and issues.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.

Results oriented with the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Knowledge of corporate, departmental and industry accounting/finance policies, procedures and principles.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, SmartView, and Business Objects.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's Degree, preferably in accounting or finance, or equivalent.

Typically a minimum three to four years of related financial analysis experience.
