Advertised Summary Job Description

This position will report to the Director of Budget, Finance and Risk Management. The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for creating financial management reports that enable the department to analyze revenue and expenses, evaluate physician productivity and identify financial results by product line. Specific reports will include AIMHI reports, COB Pivot reports, bank reconciliations, NYPH joint budget reports, ad hoc reports needed as part of the COB budgeting process, and any other reports as needed. The Senior Financial Analyst will process journal entries for monthly, quarterly, and year-end close. He/she will assist with all aspects of budget preparation, assist with monthly NYPH transfers, service agreements, fellows charges and reconciliations. He/she will reconcile and analyze account balances, overdrafts, payroll suspense, track payments and expenditures. The Senior Financial Analyst will transact salary distributions, ad-comps, and cost transfers within the Labor Accounting system as needed; he/she will assist with additional projects in the Finance Office as needed.

Requires a bachelor's degree plus four years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Position-Specific Minimum Qualifications Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or business administration with at least four years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree in a related area preferred. Requirements include excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills, sound analytical abilities; proficient in Excel, pivot tables, and financial modeling. Experience in an academic medical center is highly desirable.
