This Senior Financial Analyst is primarily accountable for the day-to-day Corporate Accounting activities surrounding Sony Affiliate and Divisional Intercompany processes as well as responsible for various account reconciliations
Additionally, this position will maintain a clear and professional relationship with other departments/divisions, primarily with Corporate Treasury, Payroll and Accounts Payable.
Maintain a clear understanding of the current Sony Corporation and Sony Pictures Entertainment organizational structures as well as develop professional relationships with the Sister and Divisional inter-company representatives.
Perform Divisional/Affiliate confirmations of intercompany balances, which include the comparison of payable and receivable balances between Sony Affiliates and Sony Pictures divisions.
Prepare and distribute intercompany invoices/credit memos and record related journal entries as well as various intercompany related schedules.
Review all inter-company g/l accounts on a weekly basis to ensure concurrence with the transactions flowing through them and contact appropriate to personnel resolve any discrepancies found in a timely manner.
Maintain and reconcile the following bank accounts and resolve all reconciling items in a timely manner:
Mellon Disbursement Account (main disbursement account)
JPM Chase – McCann accounts (relating to SPE Advertising)
Wells Fargo Account (related to Payroll checks and direct deposits)
Monitor and review activities flowing through assigned general ledger accounts and propose/record appropriate adjustments on monthly/quarterly basis.
These include but not limited to:
Accrued Payroll Accounts (Fringe, Taxes, Vacation, etc.)
Assist in the monthly close process of the general ledger.
Reconcile and analyze various SAP balance sheet accounts.
Assist the Corporate Accounting Manager with various projects on an ad hoc basis.
BA degree with accounting/finance focus.
A minimum of 3 years public and/or private accounting experience
Strong MS Excel skills
SAP Knowledge preferred
Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects.
Accounting / GAAP knowledge.
Ability to complete tasks with minimum supervision
Detail-oriented; strong organizational, analytical and computer skills
Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Excellent written and oral communication skills
