The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for financial reporting and other miscellaneous business needs including for their assigned Thoratec operation(s). This position will be primarily responsible for financial reporting and internal controls of a Thoratec entity, including related ad hoc tasks as necessary.
Preparation of the financial statements including management reports and analysis and assist with budgets and forecasts, as necessary.
Leverage business knowledge to propose solutions to business related issues in a fast paced, dynamic work environment.
Maintain internal controls from a SOX, HIPAA, Medicare perspective and reports any compliance issues to the Operations Manager and the Corporate Accounting group.
Manage multiple tasks in a timely manner with in depth knowledge of billing environment of Medicare and Commercial payers
Investigate and solve all intercompany billings, purchase orders, and other transaction al discrepancies.
Perform month end reconciliations of key accounts and activities between intercompany accounts. For example, shipments and rental equipment activities, third party invoicing to Medicare/commercial payers/patients and claims processing tools using the corporate ERP system.
Observe legal and ethical guidelines for safeguarding the confidentiality of patient and proprietary company information.
Accepts other responsibilities and duties that may be assigned.
Bachelor Degree in Accounting and/or Finance.
Strong accounting background with 5-7 years of financial analysis experience.
Knowledge of Medicare and other regulatory practices. Well-versed in regulatory guidelines and industry standards for the healthcare industry, including Medicare and commercial insurance payers’ practices.
Ability to multi-task in an ever-changing environment.
Flexibility with the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and oral) with team members, patients, caregivers, and physicians.Healthcare background.
Familiar with health-care related receivables and collection guidelines and practices.
Able to keep deadlines at a fast pace without losing accuracy.
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
Good interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external customers.
