Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution (WBDTD) is one of the leading distributors of entertainment programming to the domestic television marketplace, including local television stations as well as pay, cable, satellite and broadcast networks. WBDTD distributes feature films such as Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and The Dark Knight; primetime series including Cold Case, Without a Trace and Mentalist; primetime sitcoms including Friends, Two and a Half Men and Big Bang Theory; and first-run syndicated shows including The Ellen DeGeneres Show and TMZ.

WBDTD is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join the Media Sales team in New York. The Senior Financial Analyst will assist in various key functions that support the Media Sales group including, but not limited to, advertising sales billing, revenue recognition, cash application and reporting, monthly and quarterly closes and budgeting/forecasting for the Media (Barter and Digital/Online) Ad Sales groups.


Prepares the by-title advertising sales revenue reporting for the monthly and quarterly General Ledger closes. Assists the Financial Reporting & Accounting and Credit & Collections departments to ensure deadlines are met and client issues are communicated. Prepares and inputs journal entries in to the General Ledger system, SAP.

Prepares monthly and quarterly revenue analyses including researching and explaining variances.

Prepares cashback requests and credit memos for ad sales clients. Enters liability adjustments in Media Sales subsystem, DealMaker.

Works with sales team, management and finance counterparts to assist with sales efforts and the tracking of results.

Assists with the monthly barter and digital/online agency billing and reporting. Corresponds with clients via email and phone to assist with questions, requests and to obtain payment status to facilitate timely collections.

Assists in responding to requests from Warner Bros.’ Participations & Residuals, Tax and Legal departments and Warner Bros., Time Warner and external third party auditors to facilitate reviews and audits.

Assists with establishing and refining cash billing and collections procedures, ensuring that documented Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) processes are adhered to. Assists with required compliance and controls testing.

Collaborates with Financial Reporting & Accounting, Finance and Credit & Collections personnel to assist in researching and expediting discrepancies and variances for barter activity.

Continuously assesses processes to make recommendations to implement improvements that will gain efficiencies, streamline workflow and improve reporting.

Performs other special projects, ad-hoc reconciliations and other job related duties as assigned.


Bachelor’s degree in Finance and/or Accounting preferred.

Knowledge of accounting principles and practices required.

Technical spreadsheet applications experience, primarily Excel, required.

Ability to work with all levels of management.

SAP experience preferred.

Excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills.

Minimum of three (3) years Accounting or Finance experience required.

Entertainment industry experience, preferably in the area of Barter or Digital/Online Advertising or Television syndication, a plus.

Knowledge of general ledger, accounts receivable and account analysis required.

Must be a team player with the ability to work with staff at different organizational levels across various business units.

Must be a motivated self-starter, able to work independently.

Must have the ability to work well under pressure and with changing priorities.

Must possess strong analytical skills.

Must have the ability to organize and schedule work effectively in order to meet deadlines.

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and communicate effectively with all levels of management, peers and external clients.

Must be able to work flexible hours, including additional hours, as necessary.
