The Senior Food Service Director is responsible for planning and managing food service operations in a complex, multi-location Higher Education account in Allendale, MI. In conjunction with direct reports, he/she will develop strategic operations plans aligned with the client's mission, vision, and objectives to include sustainable practices while balancing the fiscal constraints of the operation. - Develop and be accountable for a safety culture that creates a work environment where no one gets hurt. - Establish and maintain systems and procedures for the ordering, receiving, storing, preparing, and serving of food related products, as well as menu planning and development. - Develop operational component forecasts and explain variances. Responsible for components accounting functions. - Ensure that requirements for appropriate sanitation and safety levels in respective areas are met. - Ensure compliance with company policies such as safety, wage and hour, sanitation, and purchasing. - Coordinate and supervise unit personnel regarding production, merchandising, quality and cost control, labor management, and employee training. - Conduct period inventory. - Maintain records to comply with ARAMARK, government, and accrediting agency standards. - Interact with Client Management and maintains effective client and customer relations at all levels within client organization. - Look for opportunities to implement new products and services which support sales growth and client retention. - Identify vertical sales growth opportunities and communicates with appropriate subject matter experts. - Provide Student, Client, Employee, and Community Advocacy. - Identify and implement effective conduits for customer, client, and employee feedback and acts appropriately against the data. - Maintain positive community relations while participating in professional and civic activities and making public appearances. - Responsible for recruiting, training, and succession planning of all talent at location.


Bachelor's degree (and/or requisite industry and management experience). A minimum of 3+ years of experience in a leadership role within a complex food service operation. The ability to manage in a diverse environment with focus on client and customer services, entrepreneurship, and building and growing a strong business; must be able to communicate effectively with clients, customers, and support staff and be able to respond effectively to changing demands. Proficiency in all Microsoft Office suite applications is required. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in catering operations.
