Position Summary: Critigen is looking for a Senior GIS Analyst with project management and data management expertise, geospatial analytical skills, and an understanding of statistical methods applied to Natural Resource applications for an on-site position with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, located in Beltsville, MD. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing GIS program leadership and project management to a wide range of environmental, planning and statistical analysis disciplines. Applicants must have good communications skills, demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and perform work on time and within budget. This position is located in Beltsville, MD. Basic Qualifications: Education: BA/BS in Geography, GIS, Planning, Natural Resources, Engineering or related field Years of Experience: 5-7 Primary Skills:
4 Primary Tasks o Relational database design, development, integration and statistical analysis/processing o Data Assessment and Data Mining o Geospatial data acquisition, development, integration, analysis, visualization and display. o Assist research, development and editorial review of content for technical and non-technical reports, technical posters, presentations and web content development.
Thorough knowledge of GIS technology and scientific methods.
Expert user of ESRI’s ArcGIS software suite. Able to provide expert analytical skills and mentor and train NRCS Resource Assessment Division staff and junior GIS analysts.
Communicate thoughts, ideas, and information of a technical nature in a logical, organized, coherent and persuasive manner
Demonstrates the ability to effectively lead a team to successfully deliver quality projects

Strong cartographic/data management skills are required to perform job duties Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree in GIS, Computer Science, Natural Resources Management, Research or related field
Applied experience working with statistical packages, MS Excel and MS Access to analyze data and develop custom searches/reports
Statistical methods for assessing geospatial datasets
Web development experience
Domain experience working in the environmental, planning, natural resource, and research disciplines Travel: This position is on-site at the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), Resource Assessment Division GIS Lab. Limited travel to USDA/NRCS offices in Washington DC may be required.
