The Senior Global Finance Manager will provide management information, business advice, financial leadership and support for a global line of business, ensuring that the information and advice is delivered timely and accurately, that company policies and procedures are followed, and that communication between Finance and the line of business is strong. The global line of business (LOB) will manage revenue in excess of $500M and/or will have a large and complex organizational structure with multiple revenue streams. The position is also responsible for the reporting and analysis of the line of business' global financial results. To fulfill this role, the Senior Global Finance Manager will:

Build strong relationships / partnerships with LOB leaders, geography leaders and corporate Finance staff

Assess business issues and provide information and advice to assist growth, productivity and profit improvement

Evaluate business opportunities, including mergers and acquisitions, business combinations and divestments as required

Ensure that all policies and procedures are met to the highest standard and that high-quality processes and controls exist throughout the LOB and are operating effectively

Provide strong financial leadership and determine the overall direction and setting of priorities in order to meet internal client needs

Partner with the business to ensure timely receipt of commissions, minimize work in progress and fee receivables in order to maximize cashflow, minimize provisions, and reduce day's revenue outstanding

Provide relevant and consistent management information

Provide analytical support and financial oversight for the senior management team

Consult with business leaders to develop performance metrics; report on and challenge business performance regularly using standard reporting metrics as well as internally developed business specific metrics

Create budgets and forecasts using department leaders' objectives and initiatives while aligning with corporate guidance

Participate in regional or global projects and analyses

Liaise with the Mercer Commercial Infrastructure Solutions (MCIS) group to ensure the appropriate financial information can be obtained; participate in MCIS initiatives and processes to ensure that maximum leverage and efficiency are delivered to the business

Share ideas and best practices; work to achieve globally consistent approach to financial analytics


Degree in business or finance (accounting degree preferred)

20 years of experience

Communication / influencing skills

Leadership, project management skills

Sound judgment / decision making skills

Qualified accountant
