Job Summary

The Senior Health Economist is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the health economics and outcomes research initiatives to support Healthpoint products across their lifecycle.

Summary of Essential Job Functions
  • Develop health economic strategies and plans to support Healthpoint product strategy
  • Design and implements health economics projects from inception to completion
  • Manage researchers and health economics vendors external to company
  • Provide input into clinical development plans to ensure pharmaeconomic and quality of life opportunities are fully utilized
  • Work with Global Business Teams to ensure product health economic opportunities are utilized during the product lifecycle
  • Build relationships with key researchers and opinion leaders and keeps abreast of the developments in the global health economics and outcomes field
  • Budgeting responsibility for health economics resource allocation. Responsible for adhering to established budget guidelines
  • Present health economics and outcomes research to various audiences
Minimum Requirements
  • Master’s degree or doctoral degree (e.g. MS, MPH, PhD, PharmD) or equivalent required
  • Formal training in health economics, public health, health services research, policy analysis, epidemiology, biostatistics, health care administration, or related discipline preferred
Abilities Required
  • Strong problem solving skills including studies that address specific therapy values questions
  • Strong health economic methodological, quantitative and analytical skills
    • Proficient economic modeling skills using TreeAge decision analysis softwar e
    • Proficient economic modeling skills using MS Excel
    • Experience with Structured Query Language (SQL)
      • Preferably experience with Microsoft SQL 2008
    • Experience with statistical analysis software
      • Preferably experience with SAS & JMP
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills with multidisciplinary groups
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong multitasking and time management skills
  • An understanding of the dynamics of the US and global healthcare systems and financing mechanisms
  • An understanding of pharmaceutical product development and/or commercialization
