Performs technical services and operations for the preparation of surgical and autopsy pathology specimens, which ensures accurate identification of these specimens. Performs all related pre-analytic functions, specimen handling protocols and documentation of all related tasks to include the reconciliation of the blocks received for embedding with the list submitted on a daily basis by the pathology resident. Assumes other duties and responsibilities that are related and appropriate to the position and area.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in one of the biological sciences or comparabale degree with certification as a HTL (ASCP) or equivalent certification. A minimum of five (5) years of progressive work experience in an accredited laboratory. A minimum of three (3) years of progressive work experience in the development and performance of immunohistochemical stains.
