DuPont Pioneer, a global leader in agriculture research and product development, has an opening for a Senior Manager of an Information Management (IM) group that supports the Agriculture Biotech Analytical and Genomics Technologies group. The role will lead a group of software developers, bioinformaticians, and automation engineers working in cross-functional and cross-location teams to develop systems for data acquisition, data management, bioinformatics, and decision support for biotech laboratories in the areas of molecular biology, protein, metabolite, and image analyses as well as genomics and next generation sequencing. This group collaborates closely with several information management and research groups to develop and support information management solutions enabling success in DuPont Pioneer’s biotech product pipeline. Duties/Responsibilities This role leads an experienced staff of about 20 application developers, automation engineers, and bioinformatics specialists who work on cross-functional project teams located in the Midwest and in Asia. The incumbent will be responsible for assessing current and future needs and manage development and deployment of group members. This role interfaces closely with other IM groups in areas including talent management, infrastructure, and architecture. Education and Experience Masters degree in Computer Science or Engineering, Bioinformatics, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Plant Biology, Breeding or a related field and 8-10 years of related professional experience required. At least 5 years of experience in a managerial or leadership role is required. Competencies In depth knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas and basic understanding of the other areas: molecular biology, genetics, plant breeding, software development, genomics, bioinformatics, automation engineering.
