Generate articles and content for their area for use in print and digital media, including college newsletter, news blog, social media, and college and departmental web sites.
Meeting with departments, assessing their message, and assembling copy that is appropriate for the medium (web or print). Revising copy provided by departments as needed for websites and other uses
Develop and maintains relationships with any other entities on campus that might have a resource for or a role in COS Communications (university marketing, news and information, foundation, alumni assn, etc) Develops and maintains relationships with external media outlets.
Assisting in strategic planning, developing marketing, promotional programs, and advertising materials for the academic programs in the College.
Establish and manage internship program where 1-2 student interns can assist with scope of communication duties
Create and manage events that would build the public reputation of the college
Responsible for assisting the Alumni Relations Representative and the Director of Development with media communications and publications.
May participate in various college or university-wide committees to further the advancement of COS and to facilitate the development and integration of programs. Represents the college on the university wide Marketing Council and Media Relations Council
A high school diploma and seven years of appropriate experience. Appropriate college coursework may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience. If minimum requirements of the position do not require post high school education, an applicant is not required to provide the information on the application.
Social media experience
Experience with marketing and communications at a higher education institution.
This position does not require college credits. If the selected applicant claims college credit on the application for this position, an official college transcript must be provided within 30 days of the hire date.
