We are looking for an Interaction Designer to be an integral part of our User Experience team to create compelling and innovative experiences, specifically around our mobile products for smartphones and tablets. This position requires critical thinking, organizational skills andcreativity in solving highly complex problems. You will work incross-functional teams that include research, content management, visual design and front-end development, as well as product managers, marketing, software engineers and QA. You also need to be able to advocate for and employ user experience practices through all phases of product design.
Responsibilities:
Define the customer experience for existing and new mobile applications across multiple platforms that establish and adhere to site conventions and standards Understand customer and partner needs, as well as business and functional requirements Work closely with the product management team to define product requirements Test design assumptions quickly with usability researchers through sketches, rough wireframes and prototypes Create detailed wireframes and functional specifications that effectively communicate the interaction and behavior of the design; these deliverables will be consumed by a wide audience that include Engineering and QA Collaborate closely with research, visual design, content strategy, front-end development and engineering to conceptualize, design and prototype innovative, highly usable application, UI design patterns Effectively and frequently communicate with project teams to coordinate tasks and foster anagile and collaborative environment Stay abreast of design, business and technology trends
Qualifications
Requirements:
5+ years experience working as an interaction designer or information architect for web or software applications. 3+ years of mobile experience across platforms (iOS, Android, Blackberry, mobile web, etc) and multiple mobile devices (iPad, iPhone, Blackberry phones, Android phones, etc). Deep experience in working through the entire product life cycle, and familiar with user-centered design methods. Knowledgeable of best practices of all major best of breed mobile interfaces. A blend of big picture design ideas with detail orientation, and an obsession for consistency Familiarity with mobile development technologies Proficiency with Omnigraffle, InDesign, Office and Acrobat. Proficiency in any mobile development kits a plus Clear, organized writing, communication, and presentation skills
