POSITION: Senior Interior Designer


Joerns Healthcare (Joerns) is expanding its Charlotte-based interior design team to meet client demand. Team project scopes include small specifications to full-scale renovations or new construction as well as development of standards programs. Due to growth, Joerns seeks an additional senior interior designer for the Charlotte, NC office.

The senior interior designer will have extensive responsibility for assigned projects including client interaction, team communication, needs discovery, programming, design scope and tasks, functional space planning and design, interior architectural detail support, presentation development and implementation, interior palette design and selection, construction documents and elevations and specification of furniture and furnishings as well as lighting, way-finding, and signage. Some travel is expected.

Must have a valid driver’s license. Other responsibilities may be assigned by leader, as needed.

· Bachelor’s degree in interior design

· Minimum of 8 years interior design experience, senior healthcare experience preferred

· NCIDQ certification preferred; will consider NCIDQ candidates

· Proficiency in AutoCAD required

· 3D rendering software, and Adobe Photoshop experience preferred.




Bachelor's degree in interior design required. Minimum 8 years of interior design experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and AutoCAD required. Experience with Adobe Photoshop and SketchUp or other 3D rendering software preferred. Ability to handle highly confidential matters and works in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment. Ability to effectively and efficiently communicate at either a high level or detailed level. Ability to professionally present ideas to a cross-functional group of people at a variety of organizational levels.


Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
