This position is for a temporary engagement through our staffing partner WorkforceLogic.The duration of the assignment cannot exceed 12 months.
The Senior Japanese Translator is responsible for editing/translating developer-facing materials. More concretely:
  • Translating technical presentations
  • Translating technical documentation
  • Localizing English-language videos into Japanese
  • Translating English newsletter articles into Japanese
  • Editing technical translation
  • Translating other internal communications (e-mail, etc.) as necessary
  • Interpreting between TNT and Japanese staff as required
  • Localizing and QA’ing localization of GUIs for software developed in-house

  • At least three years of experience translating developer-facing documentation
  • Native and excellent Japanese-language writing ability
  • Clear and accurate English-language communication skills
  • Experience collaborating with writers and engineers
  • Attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • The ability to work flexibly amid shifting project priorities
Prefered Experience:
  • Experience and skill with Confluence
  • Experience with graphics tools such as SnagIt and Photoshop (i.e., the ability to do light graphic editing)
  • Experience and skill with TRADOS or a similar CAT system
  • Knowledge of the software development process
  • Familiarity with at least one object-oriented programming language
  • Some knowledge of how character encoding works
  • Experience in video production and localization
  • An interest in the videogame industry and consumer electronics
